He loved her through the mask she wore
Life hits different behind closed door
He loved her through the sharpest words
Thinking true love is the one that hurts

When he glanced at the rain outside
It felt like it rained through his heart
And that place they found in love
The roof was crumbling from above

He loved her through the face she showed
Knowing that year was an overload
He loved her through her darkest days
He had back then and would always

When he glanced at the rays of sun
It felt like the bright days would come
To that place they found in love
Trying to let go of what was done

He loved her through the memories
His life was hooked on remedies
He loved her through the hope and fate
Until the divine set it straight

When he glanced at the cloudy skies
He yearned to see a new sunrise
Leaving that place he found in love
He knew she never was the one
